Italy’s anti-drug education initiative has gone beyond more than one million drug-prevention booklets distributed in just one month. The initiative forms part of the international Truth About Drugs education programme, which aims to provide factual education about commonly abused substances and their impact on health and society.
Approximately five hundred volunteers are participating in the outreach effort, distributing materials in cities, neighbourhoods and local businesses. The campaign focuses on helping young people make informed decisions, providing resources designed to explain the dangers of drugs in a understandable way.
The campaign is connected to broader humanitarian initiatives supported by the Church of Scientology, inspired by the work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
